Since I started up my recent sermon presentations on Absolute Music, I have rekindled my music listening time, even if only in a small way. In the past, I have always used YouTube in my music classes to show people about music that they otherwise would never be able to hear or even attend, even if it is just on their monitor. Who can afford to fly to Europe or even to our own concert halls for these concerts? So why not try to develop a small music appreciation/listening section on my website, right?
I also want people to realize there is more 'good' music available that isn't always hymns and gospel songs. Actually, if one is honest about hymns these days, one would realize that most "arrangements" are nothing but fleshy performances (Dino, Jimmy, etc.) and a high majority of 'good hymns' have serious doctrinal issues. There is still "good 'earthly' music" that can still pass the test of what sort our works are for our judgment seat of Christ as well as being 'ok' to 'think on,' as Paul teaches (whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, are of good report, if there be any virtue, praise). The more you learn to understand God's words and His grace during this dispensation of the grace of God, you can see that 'yes,' there is actually a music that can we can enjoy. I Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works... and that should include certain music.
One of my personal challenges has always been that when I learn something fantastic, etc. I have always wanted to tell others. I hope I have gotten over my baptistic style of preaching AT or TO someone as much as 'teaching' FOR someone to help folks reach out for those marvelous riches of understanding that the apostle Paul has taught me.
While it has always been hard for me to keep those wonderful things to myself, it also can disappointing when someone just can't grasp the joy as well as even some understanding of what I am trying to share. And, sad to say, there going to be more and more times that I run out of energy trying to keep it this website and YouTube channel fresh, but I am going to try again. I really believe I have too much in my brain and heart to 'take to my grave,' as they say and I hope you realize that I am speaking humbly, of course, but as I get into these latter times, I really want to leave folks with something valuable for their lives.
Of course, having tossed aside the cruelty and deception of modern religion, I still enjoy having the opportunity to share my understanding of the teachings of the risen Christ through the apostle Paul from a rightly divided King James Bible is still my most important desire for others and is still my priority.
But I would also like to spend some time talking about music and how we can enjoy it 'properly' and even 'healthily' - and not necessarily in a sermon preaching style. In just some small way, maybe I can help by including a few comments along with some listening recommendations of 'good' music, at least as close to absolute music that I can find and explain, hoping to help some folks get more understanding of the voice of music so they can also learn how to protect themselves from the devices of Satan. Being a 'musician' himself, one of his greatest ways of attacking us has been through the universal language music and using music to destroy souls and lives of the young and old.
The Piano is the one musical instrument that I know of the most and so I will limit this (I think) to piano music. March 29 is World Piano Day(I see nobody has told Hallmark Cards yet!!) so this seems like a good day to try to start and develop this new part of the website. And as if I have any more room on my 'retired plate of life,' to start something new 'again,' and I don't want this to take away from my sermon presentation writings/recordings, or my own study time, or my e-mail time I am already way behind or my own needs around the house, or as a father and grandpa... I am going to 'try something' here in the website, even though I am also not blind to the fact there is probably a majority of the the folks out there that won't be interested in this music 'commentary' and 'appreciation class.'
So if you can take the time to make this happen, probably no more than 30 minutes or even less, let's just kick back or sit back and enjoy some amazing music, written by an amazing composer, performed on a near perfect piano and recorded by an amazing pianist.
At least to me, this sounds like an enjoyable thing for me to attempt - and besides, as is everything from me, it is free! If it doesn't work, we can all just hit delete and move on but then at least I will have tried. When I listen to some of the piano music have listened to recently, I kept thinking to myself, "Self, there must be a way I can help others experience this wonderful performance!" (The word 'share' fits here but I just never have liked the word 'share.')
So, let's get started. After you hopefully read this introduction, simply click on the heading again and you will find the additions, each one on their own. I am also going to include the audios of the performances in case anyone is not able to access YouTube to watch the video.
P.S. I have no intention of breaking any copyright laws, so I will give credit to my sources and will consider all is for 'educational purposes' and no money will be asked for in return. Just for enjoyment and learning purposes.
