Come with me to the prairie, badlands, lakes, rivers,
small towns, fields and yes, even 
a few mountains (very high hills) in the
Dakotas!
(Mostly South Dakota but I have included a few spots four our years in North Dakota)

We all know we can't escape from any of the godless and insane people of this 'nutty' world; we really can't escape from the constant sounds and bass-pounding music out in the world these days.  Unless we join in and accept it all, it has simply become almost totally inescapable; even within our own homes from neighbors and teens, etc. we can't seem to escape it all.  The only peace we can truly have is in our hearts - the rest of our daily life is what it is and always will be... well, until 'you know what' takes place at any time...
So, until then, let's just keep on singing AND go with me within my website to a few of my own 'getaways' as I try to take a mental 'getaway' from it all.
I can certainly picture us in these pictures because
I have 'been there - done that' and hope to do it again soon!
I am dedicating these pages as places where I can either dream of or a place I can pretend to be - and in many of these places, I will be able to reminisce of what it was like when I had actually spent time at or near that spot.  On occasion, I will just take some pics from my computer and 'go to these places' in my mind by putting them into my website.  Probably just for me, but maybe you can enjoy some thoughts that might be created by these pictures - or should I say images for the modern word these days.

Maybe someday I will dig up a hidden fortune and go to one of these places on a permanent basis? Well, that would be nice but you and I know that we can't really escape permanently; but if the time & desire warrants, I can try to take a little getaway and at least pretend.  You are welcome to come with me.

Smooth waters - you and your buddy in a little boat! 
Ahhhhhh the sound of the boat gently gliding over the waters - the birds - the quiet!!
Oh, and of course, some egg salad sandwiches and deviled eggs!!!
Wouldn't this be a nice place to find!  No people, set up your little site right along the shore - set up your chair, throw in a fishing line, get a camp fire going... and of course, finish off those egg salad sandwiches and deviled eggs before you throw a few burgers onto the campfire grate!  Eating a few crappies, along with some bulheads - and their little ball of yellow eggs, of course, for dessert would be a nice way to finish this day.
For a quick 'instant' getaway, sitting down with my Sumatra coffee and a Louis L'Amour western can be exciting.
Working in the 'yard' is a quick getaway for me - when the yard is workable, that is!
Take a short drive out into the country - on the gravel roads, eventually pulling off to the side of the road listening to the Western Meadowlarks while you are eating an egg salad sandwich and drinking some clear and clean ice water.  Just sitting in the quiet prairie countryside with my little Ruger cowboy .22 mag under the car seat 'just in case' a gopher waddles by... NICE!  Does it get any better than this?  Yes it will, but not at the moment - UNLESS the 'moment' comes!
 While many of these pics will be from my own travels, if anyone does see their own pics on this page and you have them copyrighted: 1) I found these already on the internet from other sites; no harm intended and I will remove them instantly at your request;
or 2) you leave 'em be and enjoy, maybe even profit from, the free advertising if your name is on the pic!
Either way - they are great places in the state with great faces!
