The Use of Music During the Subtle Destruction of America
This is a short 'teaching moment' unit that ‘generalizes’ a conclusion that could be looked into much deeper if one were to be interested. What took place 'physically' in Armenia by the communist leaders of the 'new Russia' is now also taking place in America. However, this time it is being done from the 'inside' - subtly, just as Khrushchev said they would - without firing a shot!
I will use the Armenian composer/pianist Aram Khachaturian to explain my comments.
But first, I suggest you watch this short performance video of ‘Sabre Dance’ composed by Aram Khachaturian. He was the most loved and popular Armenian composer and pianist during the time of the ‘attempted' genocide of their country that began in 1915 and it is his music we will be using in this short teaching unit.

As you watch and listen to this video performance of Sabre Dance, may I suggest you listen a number of times as you would do any movie / program, etc. You will continue to make more detailed observations each time you watch. Note the HD video quality which enables you to see in detail things we never would see unless we were standing right there in the midst of the orchestra. The audience members don't even see what you can see!
Note the following musical listening/watching suggestions:
1) ...all the various instruments, design, quality, how they are played, how they fit the music, etc.
2) ...the conductor has he points out the expressions, the cues, the 'feeling' of the music - follow him!
3) ...the musicians themselves and how they either move or don't move as they play, their concentration, their enjoyment, the attire, their 'virtuosoistic' skill on their instrument, etc.
4) ...the concert hall itself, the stillness and concentration of the audience, the size and placement of the orchestra.
5) ...anything else that comes to you, feel free to let me know your observations and thoughts.

A few facts and statements to consider:
As you watch the next three 'short' documentaries (there are more, but these are all I used in my class), you will notice the following historical facts and comments as my basis for my title and comments.
We will be looking at what took place in Armenia when the Communist Party took over the once highly educated, moralistic, high cultural existence of early Russia and with their new communistic ideology created the Soviet Union; in the process they physically eliminated teachings, cultural identities and the very existence of their lives - of the Armenian people.
We will then consider the music the Armenians truly 'loved' and to us here in America, how the melodies can play such an important part in those who are 'in the know' about the crashing of the America we once knew. Then there are those young people (or misled adults) who let music be their leader, their controlling element, their love with and by the 'flesh' - their entertainment. There is less and less American heart and soul being performed or heard today.
When you listen to the last performance video, you will see what I mean!

A history of death, murder, torture, suffering, devastation
and loss of their country they loved so dearly!
and loss of their country they loved so dearly!
Attempted Genocide (Holocaust) - 1915
- The new 'government' starved the people!
- They forced them to walk through the desert until they all died!
- They murdered / tortured millions who were not supportive of the new 'takeover!'
- Communism became the new political ideology and government!
- They did allow a few composers to continue to write - they were too well known to be 'eliminated.'
- They pretended to 'praise them' and 'wish them well,' etc.
- Many composers were either killed, exciled or escaped out of the country - most to America. (Prokofiev - "Peter and the Wolf" / Tchaikovsky - "Nutcracker Suite" - and more)
Earthquake - December 7, 1988
Killed 'at least' 60,000 known' Physical Destruction 100%
Killed 'at least' 60,000 known' Physical Destruction 100%
- Through all those years of sadness, etc. their music played a special role!
- Folk Music - music for the people and BY the people.
- It was 'their own music,' thus we don't see the joy, the happiness in the music as much as we see and hear the tragedy.
- They had a nationalistic spirit - these were the days when countries had 'their own music' - a nationalism existed. They were proud of their country and when they hear the music of their country, they would 'remember it all' along with a love for their own country as it was in the past.
- Music was NOT their entertainment, it was their life. It represented 'them' as a people!
- Their composers wrote music that reflected and reinforced their own love for their country for their own people and Armenian culture.
Three short documentaries that will illustrate my comments the music these people heard and performed during all these turbulent years of their country's history.
The fourth video is a performance that will truly squeeze your heart by the melodies
that the Armenians so loved to hear and still do.
With what we see going on in America today, these melodies can also grab our hearts! Unfortunately, the music that is going on in America today has moved from the heart to the feet of most Americans - especially the young ones - as well as the misled adults.

Only 'part' of a documentary series on Aram Khachaturian- 3:47
A short introduction - 9:16
A good documentary on what all took place in Armenian history. 10:09

This video deserves deep thought and personal awareness in the following ways:
- The performers, the instruments, the conductor's manner of performance, of course.
- The music - the tearful, heartfelt, emotional melodies that bring back memories for all of us. (You probably have heard these beautiful melodies in various movies.)
- The audience: it is a huge audience and it seems there is very little movement during this performance. It may appear that some are sleeping but I believe they are deep in emotional thoughts and are allowing the melodies to work their hearts, which is exactly what a good melody should do.
Music in Armenia vs Music in America
- Music has moved from the hearts of patriotic Americans to the feet of almost all Americans.
- The music has become a subtle mind changing tool to spread the 'new' American ideology.
- As Communism did to Armenia, it is being done in America.
- While it is not a physical tool as it was in Armenia, it is a subtle tool that continues to create the 'new Americans' with their new cultural values (if they have any values at all) as well as the new perverted cultural lifestyles and all that comes with calling good evil and evil good, etc.
- Music today controls the minds of the listeners and hearers and is found absolutely everywhere; it is nearly impossible to avoid.
- Music today is causing deafness, blindness, 'robots and zombies' full of stress, neurotic ism and narcissism in the listeners with no capability of any serious mental thought processes - just like little children following the Pied Piper of Hamlin to the new American Way - followed only by eternal death and destruction.
- Armenians loved their music because they loved their country.
- Americans hate the 'old' music because they have been taught to hate America's culture by the 'new' music.
- Young Americans can not stand 'melodies' anymore.
- The are addicted to the beat - the rhythm - that they follow.
- They mistakenly call it music when it is simply a mind controlling tool!
Dear readers: This was just some simple comments from a teaching unit I recently completed. To 'prove' the above commentary to the doubtful would take more study of my many sermons on music. I do think most of my website family understand my comments, though!
The rest of the world along with today's self-proclaiming Christians hate my music teachings as much as they hate Paul, the apostle; the teaching so the RISEN Jesus Christ replacing the Gospels, etc.; the 1611 King James Bible; and the words 'only' and 'rightly dividing' by following Paul!"
I am sure that much more could be said, rewritten or delved into further concerning this subject - but this is enough for now - M. Paulson
