Here are a few of my favorite verses that I have heard pastors preach hard to their pew-sitting people - especially when they want to use their guilt techniques on their people. Remember, these are verses that show what will be taking place and preached during the time of great tribulation. These are NOT written to us today, although I will point out with just a few comments - no big study - that these verses are the ones used by the pastors to falsely preach and teach today because they want to control the daily lives of the people as he tries to build his little church kingdom here on earth.
1. Heb 13:7, Remember them which have the rule over you, ah yes, THEY, meaning your pastor, RULES over you! Remember that - they think they RULE over you! who have spoken unto you the word of God: well, actually they don't speak the word of God. Either they 1) use very little 'scripture' and instead use their philosophy, counseling materials or their own 'wisdom of words'; 2) use modern corrupted bibles or 3) they 'rightly divide the word of truth' wrongly - either by ignoring it totally, or picking and choosing which verse goes to which dispensation (based on their education and denomination while they completely ignore Paul's books, which, by the way, all of which begin with the word 'Paul'!) whose faith follow, for those modern bible version people, their bibles say to 'imitate' their pastors faith, which in modern religious circles, faith means 'their' faith in their daily walk as a Christian, etc. - Can you / will you / do you even want to 'imitate' your pastor's life based on his own faith? considering the end of their conversation. During the Tribulation, the end is when they finally receive their grace and mercy, so of course would remind them to 'not mess up' or they might not get their grace and mercy, etc. Remember their eternal future depends on their walk this great tribulation - but to us today, the end of our conversation is to be with the risen Saviour - and for that, we don't have worry like Paul is telling the Jews here.
2. Heb 13:17, Obey them that have the rule over you, there it is again - based on these two verses, they really think they should be able to RULE over you! and submit yourselves: Submit - what a strong word! for they watch for your souls, because during the great tribulation, they will rule over you and try to keep you from messing up as it is your soul that is at stake THEN because you can 'lose' your salvation - see next verse... (but not today) as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. now what a great source for a guilt trip today! I mean, if you know that your pastor is accountable for you and that you need to do all you can to make him be happy / full of joy, etc. and that it is YOU who will pay for it... ya, that is a great guilt-trip message! Sure glad that isn't the case today. May of today's pastors have a great income, great homes, great cars, great guns, great vacations, etc. because his people are led to believe it is their accountability to God if he doesn't have that good life. During the great tribulation, yes, those pastors will be held accountable to his people's souls as will the people be accountable towards their pastor, to make sure they are all doing what is required of them during that time. Works along with their faith will get them to endure... but if they mess up, confession time will be important again.
Loss of Salvation - during the Tribulation - the severity of God but not today, the goodness of God. We are sealed!
Heb 6:4,5,6, For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. They can confess their sins and God is faithful and just to forgive them their sins, and will cleanse them from all unrighteousness. But to take the mark? It's over - eternally!
